Debunk The Myth Of Online Presence Using Four Key Strategies!

I used to think I post - therefore, I am present online.

But due to the abundance of content, not all of it gets the same exposure.

When I first realized that, I started doubting my choices because I didn't want to be a content manager or anything like that.

Why would I, as a course creator and a personal brand entrepreneur, have to invest in an online presence? Does organic marketing work on social media

Four Strategies To Strengthen Your Online Presence And Why You Need Them

You have a website and are technically present online.

But if that website is not driving traffic or helping you boost sales, no one is looking at it, and you're just passively present online.

However, you need more than fixing a website; you must be present and active on social media platforms.

That is no longer optional; it is a must for every business!

So, how do you define online presence?

I was never someone who would post a lot on Facebook and had no Instagram account, but I realized that if I wanted my brand to grow and attract more customers, I needed to start posting more.

And by that, I don't mean posting a photo of my morning coffee or tea.

Instead, I needed a content plan to promote my services or offers oriented toward my current and future customers.

So, if you're a bit shy with posting and you're afraid, no one will leave a comment or like, it can be tough to break the ice.

Being present online on social media isn’t about getting all the likes and comments.

It only gathers all the fans and followers. We want meaningful engagement, after all!

Prepare yourself that the first several posts will do poorly in traffic and that you must keep posting despite that.

Investing in an online presence is necessary to reach more customers, build a reputation, and grow your business.

Develop Your Content Marketing Strategy

Only start posting if you plan for at least one month of content. That might sound intimidating, but that's the only way to do it right.

You can't just post a blog every few days, then sometimes need to remember to share it across social media.

You actually have to invest a lot of time and planning into this. If you have a website, writing blogs and optimizing them for search engines is the best thing you can do.

But have you covered the most important topics first?

Most controversial ones? Most googled ones? Then how do you share it on social media?

You'll need visuals, descriptions, and captions, which can be very overwhelming if you can't outsource.

You're a course creator, not a content writer, SEO expert, and social media manager, right?

Well, I am sorry to burst the bubble, but you will have to be a bit of everything.

Use Video For Your Online Presence Strategy

Ok, is this one easier or harder?

To an online course creator, making videos shouldn't be so complicated, and since short video clips are on the rise, you could benefit greatly from this strategy.

A source from Semrush survey in 2020 showed that 41% said the video was their most efficient content marketing tool, while 61% praised repurposing old content.

“86% of businesses use video as a marketing tool in 2021.”

Most social media platforms now favor videos, so the timing is perfect!

However, don't make replicas of your online courses or use your short videos as part of your online courses too.

Never do this to benefit the customer learning experience; instead, think about them as a crash course.

Something short and exciting that will gain attention quickly.

Address one main problem first and then move on to some specifics.

Pay attention to the quality of the video and audio, experiment with effects, and include texts as well, just like a reel does!

You don't have to focus solely on videos, but strive to publish at least one per week, along with regular posts.

What I found really helpful was paying attention to what other content creators I follow do in their videos, regardless of the topic, and further spike more ideas on creating my version!

Design A Captivating Social Media Graphic

Whether you want to create a carousel post, share a tip as a particular post, or provide important information, you should use more than just a blank background and a basic font.

I love posting on social media because it allows me to be more creative than my 4th-grade art teacher ever did.

Use free tools such as Canva to make captivating visuals that will draw the attention of all the scroller.

Also, when it comes to graphics, you should test different options, find the one that matches your brand and speaks for your content, and then stick to it because it helps shape your brand's visual identity.

So think about specific colors and shapes you'll use if you don't have one.

Build A Brand Purpose Community

Social media platforms are the best places for building a community.

You can still have a website and a blog, but only some people leave a comment under a blog nowadays.

You will probably get more feedback below the post you shared. Be it a critique or praise, don't be afraid to reply.

You must work on establishing relationships and building an online community and need interaction for engagement!

Your posts must be brand-related and relevant to your followers, so keep that in mind.

Your profile should be well-curated to promote your brand's story, identity, mission, and vision.

Don't worry about aesthetics if you're not into aesthetics.

Instead, focus on having quality content that's valuable to your audience.

Clarifying how you want to position your market enables you to skyrocket your sales through engagement.

Be clear on what you are offering to your market.

No matter how many different services you have, your strategy should only offer new leads one option.

It’s either buy or don't buy–You attract and repel your audience at the same time!

Does Investing In Online Presence Pay Off?

If you look around, you'll see that everyone keeps stepping up their online game, so no matter how much you invest, it will always pay off.

Those just starting as online course creators might prefer to do it all independently.

However, that is still a good approach because no one knows your story and vision better than you!

Love, Ivy 🖤
